Mimi Han Ying - The African Goddess of Mercy
Well, the nickname might sound funny and weird, but this is what I get to know from Screen and Stage Pictorial.
it could be attributed to her relatively darker skin tone I supppose.
Similar background to Christine Liao a.k.a Mao Mei , the daughter of studio's manager Yuan Yang'an, Han Ying is daughter of the Feng Huang Studio General Manager Han Xiong Fei.
Though her debut is with Feng Huang, However, first half of her career was with Xin Xin Studio (Studio established By Yuan Yang'an after he left Great Wall). Always casting alongside Boss' daughter Mao Mei, she occasionally being casted as leading lady with Guan Shan in some features too.
As soon as Xin Xin Studio dismissed, Han Ying joined Feng Huang again, and she was the most celebrated leading lady in the Studio after Sugar Lady Zhu Hong.
