This is a rough cut montage comprising of Teresa Li Lihua's eyes, from her photos found in different era.
Li Li Hua has undergone a few reincarnation in her long running career, that finally earned her the publicly recongnized sobriquet " the Evergreen Tree of Chinese Cinema".
Youth is closely related to appearence, and most prominently in Chinese cinema, Youth is the greatest asset and capital for an actress. There are rarely actress who could be still playing leading role while reaching 35, but Li Lihua could be by far the only one who manage to go beyond the norms and stereotype, and her ambitious career mind and strong willed to keep young in competing with actresses of younger generation, has been a miracle.
No doubt, she is truly the celestial Empress of Chinese Cinema.
No matter how great the medical science evolved, there could hardly for mortal to outrival the natural process of Aging, Teresa was not an exception. However, one thing that never change, her cat eyes; from 1940s to 1990s, is still sharp, bewtiching, and dignified, as she first appeared beyond the audiences in Shanghai in 1939.
Of course, her legacy and legend, has been immortalized.
Last but not least, Long live the Empress, God bless the Empress!

Cool collage, Dev!
Yeah, Li Lihua's position at the top was so secure that she even played a few roles that were, in my opinion, too young for her and should have gone to a younger actress -- I'm thinking particularly of Between Tears and Laughter (1964) and Vermillion Door (1965). But could one of the new generation of stars match the power of the empress... I don't think so!
I thoroughly agree with you Dave, the power of empress Li is simply magnificent!
EMm, i should change the word "queen" to "empress~~
Wow... I just saw the videos you added. What a retrospective! :D
haha, a small retrospective though.. but I believe it somehow significant in showing her transition in different period, which i believe these moving images might speak adifferent angle for those who interested in her transition of different era~~
Thanks Dave :)
Cool work Dev.I bet Queen Lihua aka Empress Theresa will be so pleased, haha!!!
Empress Theresa is the Maria Felix of the East, those cat eyes are so alike in ferocity and fierceness.
La Maria was so revered and loved by the Spanish speaking audience, she is their very own Saint Maria.
As for Queen Lihua, for her sheer style and determination, there isnt any equivalent.
Ave Maria and God save the Queen..Li hua.
